On June 24, NIO and FAW Hongqi announced at the same time that the two parties had reached a charging interconnection cooperation. In the future, the two parties will interconnect and create together to provide users with more convenient services. Officials stated that this is the first project to be implemented after NIO reached a strategic cooperation with China FAW.
Previously, last month, NIO signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China FAW Administration. It is reported that NIO and China FAW will carry out all-round, multi-level in-depth strategic cooperation in the field of charging and swapping, including the establishment of battery technology standards, research and development of rechargeable and swappable battery models, battery asset management and operation, charging and swapping to replenish energy. Deepen long-term cooperation mechanisms in areas such as ecological service network construction and operation, battery industry procurement and supporting facilities, and establish long-term and stable strategic partnerships.
Entering 2024, NIO is continuing to expand its energy replenishment network. In addition to China FAW and FAW Hongqi, NIO has already reached charging and swapping strategic cooperation with Changan Automobile, Geely Holding Group, Chery Automobile, Jiangxi Automobile Group, Lotus, Guangzhou Automobile Group and other car companies.
In addition, since its establishment, NIO has continued to invest in charging and swapping technology and product research and development, and continues to build charging and swapping facilities.
Among them, in terms of battery swapping stations, in mid-June this year, NIO’s first batch of fourth-generation battery swapping stations and 640kW fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging piles were officially launched for users of NIO, Letao and charging and swapping strategic partners. The power swap station comes standard with 6 ultra-wide-angle lidars and 4 Orin
In addition, as of June 24, NIO has built 2,435 power swap stations and 22,705 charging piles across the country, including 804 high-speed power swap stations and 1,666 high-speed supercharging piles.
